Reforming the Media to Advocate for Immigrants
The press acts like a mediator between two people: host countries and immigrants. Many people already hold an initial impression of foreign races and cultures, and are thus easily influenced by the media who frequently reflect those stereotypes and assumptions, portraying immigrants in a negative light. Miscommunication between the two main perspectives can lead to misconceptions and hostility, further isolating immigrants.

The absence of many true immigrant voices can be minimised if the media can be utilised to serve as a platform for refugee voices. By having the media advocate for open immigrant perceptions, citizens themselves will likely adopt more positive attitudes towards immigration in accordance with the information they read in the press.
